Art Without Concept - T-shirt Design

The design brief for this project was completely up in the air, you have design something that is nice to look at and is appealing. I like big cats 9tigers, lions, panthers etc.) so I decided to design a leopard.

To begin with I had to research big cats and leopards in particular looking at the eyes, ears and teeth and then trying to create my leopard image. The most challenging thing would turn out to be the eyes as they're multicoloured.

I began out by drawing rough sketchs and outlines for my tiger/panther/leopard because at this stage i wasn't 100% sure on which animal i wanted to create.

after designing the basic shape and adding detail I had decided that panther's looked a bit to plain and tigers colouring is rather difficult to do.

Here you can see the development of my leopard, I then began to start playing around with position, colour and other various effects so that I could see the outcome.

I was planning on making the image inverted however once I did so I didn't much like the outcome.
I decided that i didn't like the colour of the ears and decided to change it.I also applied the halftone effect to make the image less harsh.I alos changed flipped the image so that it pointed towards the left rather than the right because it makes the image slightly more eye catching.

My final design.

The Big Lebowski - T-shirt Design

The brief was pretty simple, crate a T-shirt for the television show 'The Big Lebowski'. This involved researching the show and finding out what elements would work for the how and what key areas/subjects I could focus.

Keywords;
Bowling, Drinking, Sun glasses, Guns, Stupidity, Unemployed, Random, Unlucky, Danger, Bowling tournaments, Friends, Dude, Hair, Bars

I then drew a few mock up designs quickly, the one above is the intentional drawing design for my final design.
Here I was trying to design the bowling ball pins.
The finished design before it was edited and tweaked. After i had done all I could in Illustrator I moved the image into Photoshop so that I could continuously edit the image without being with stricted. Once in Photoshop I could add and change little details such as the hair and the bowling pin stripes.

The typeface I used for the final piece was magnetto bold. I choose this typeface because from research it's the exact one they used in the show.
